چکیده

The ranked set sampling (RSS) is an effective scheme popularly used to produce more precisely estimators. Despite its popularity, RSS suffers from some drawbacks which includes high sensitivity outliers and it cannot sometimes be applicable when the population relatively small. To overcome these limitations, varied L (VLRSS) recently introduced. It shown that VLRSS enjoys with many interesting properties over also encompasses several existing schemes. In addition, helpful for providing precise estimates of parameters. fill this gap, article extends work address estimation based ℛ on strength stress both follow exponential distribution. Estimation of Variance of Normal Distribution using Ranked Set Sampling

Introduction     In some biological, environmental or ecological studies, there are situations in which obtaining exact measurements of sample units are much harder than ranking them in a set of small size without referring to their precise values. In these situations, ranked set sampling (RSS), proposed by McIntyre (1952), can be regarded as an alternative to the usual simple random sampling ...

Bayesian and Maximum Likelihood Estimation for Kumaraswamy Distribution Based on Ranked Set Sampling

In this paper, the estimation of the unknown parameters of the kumaraswamy distribution is considered using both simple random sampling (SRS) and ranked set sampling (RSS) techniques. The estimation is based on maximum likelihood estimation and Bayesian estimation methods. A simulation study is made to compare the resultant estimators in terms of their biases and mean square errors. The efficie...

Weibull-Bayesian analysis based on ranked set sampling

Most of estimation methods reported in the literature are based on simple random sampling (SRS), which to certain extent is considerably less effective in estimating the parameters as compared to a new sampling technique, ranked set sampling (RSS) and its modifications. In this Paper we address the problem of Bayesian estimation of the parameters for Weibull distribution, based on ranked set sa...

Bayesian nonparametric models for ranked set sampling.

Ranked set sampling (RSS) is a data collection technique that combines measurement with judgment ranking for statistical inference. This paper lays out a formal and natural Bayesian framework for RSS that is analogous to its frequentist justification, and that does not require the assumption of perfect ranking or use of any imperfect ranking models. Prior beliefs about the judgment order statis...

Stratified Median Ranked Set Sampling: Optimum and Proportional Allocations

In this paper, for the Stratified Median Ranked Set Sampling (SMRSS), proposed by Ibrahim et al. (2010), we examine the proportional and optimum sample allocations that are two well-known methods for sample allocation in stratified sampling. We show that the variances of the mean estimators of a symmetric population in SMRSS using optimum and proportional allocations to strata are smaller than ...
